Green Initiative is a foundation for planting and protecting trees.Our vision is to reduce global warming and implement reforestation programs. Greenvein functions under the leadership of Swami Samvidanand who is the Secretary of  Abheda Ganga Mayya Trust.The ‘Billion Trees Project’ is an ambitious initiative to plant one billion trees in India being taken up by started our activities in Kerala on June 5,2014.More than one lakh saplings are planted across the state in the last one year.Greenvein is in the process of setting up nurseries to make it a self sutainable project in the upcoming years.As of now,in Kerala,we have nurseries in Idukki,Thrissur,Aleppey and Trivandrum.We have active volunteers and strong presence in Utharakhand,Orissa,Uttarpradesh,Delhi and Himalayas.Our first nursery is in Brasu,Rudraparyag.This is an abandoned village which is takenup as part of the Greenvein project.Many prestigious educational institutions have joined hands with Greenvein in this project.JNU(Delhi) and Gurukul Kangri Viswavidyalay(Haridwar) are to name a few.
